Weather Bulletin

Situation: A trough of low pressure remains slow moving just to the

north of Fiji. Associated cloud and showers affects the northern

parts of the group. Another trough of low pressure with associated

cloud and showers lies just to the west of the country and is

expected to affect the group from later today. Meanwhile, a moist

northeast wind flow prevails over the country.

Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji group:

Occasional showers and few thunderstorms over Vanua Levu, Taveuni and

nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti group, the eastern parts

and interior of the other larger island. Elsewhere, cloudy periods

with some showers and isolated thunderstorms, becoming frequent and

heavy from tonight.

Isolated heavy falls expected.

Heavy falls may lead to localised flash flooding of low lying areas.

Moderate east to northeast winds, fresh at times. Winds becoming

predominantly northeast later today.

Moderate to rough seas.

Outlook for Saturday : Occasional showers and isolated

thunderstorms.

For Navua / Suva / Nausori :

Occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms.

Outlook for Saturday : Occasional showers and isolated

thunderstorms

For Nadi / Lautoka / Ba :

Cloudy periods with some showers and isolated thunderstorms. Showers

and thunderstorms becoming frequent and heavy from tonight.

Outlook for Saturday : Occasional showers and few thunderstorms.

For Labasa :

Occasional showers and few thunderstorms.

Outlook for Saturday : Occasional showers and few thunderstorms.

For Savusavu : Occasional showers and few thunderstorms.

Outlook for Saturday : Occasional showers and few thunderstorms

For Rotuma :

group. Another trough of low pressure with associated cloud and

showers lies just to the west of the country and is expected to

affect the group from later today. Meanwhile, a moist northeast wind

flow prevails over the country.

Forecast to 6am tomorrow for Fiji waters:

East to northeast winds 15 to 20 knots. Winds becoming predominantly

northeast later today.

Moderate to rough seas.

Moderate southerly swells.

Poor visibility in areas of heavy showers and thunderstorms.

Further outlook: Northeast winds 15 to 20 knots. Moderate to rough

seas.
