EVERGREEN super middleweight champion Abhay Chand will be out to settle the scores against Tevita Ligaitukana in the Kiran Boxing Promotion scheduled at Tilak High School tomorrow.

Chand, who has fought a total of 38 fights, will be out to prove his status as the better of the two boxers having defeated Laigaitukana in their first meeting in 2010.

The 38-year-old has won 19 of his previous fights with 12 knockout wins, 15 losses and four draws.

A win against Ligaitukana will set a platform for Chand as he chases a title fight next year.

Event organiser Shalvin Singh said the main bout would be a return fight long overdue after their first meeting seven years ago.

He said the bout would be a tussle of two experienced boxers.

"It will be an exciting bout because both fighters have met once," said Singh.

"Abhay will want to prove his dominance at the same time Tevita will be out to take revenge after his first defeat.

"Both are experienced boxers and they have equal chances of winning."

Singh said Ligaitukana still had the class and the talent despite his absence from the ring in the past seven years.

"Ligaitukana still has the class and anything can happen during the bout."

Meanwhile, about 10 professional men's fights, one women's bout together with three exhibition bouts during the event.

Nadi's Ronald Naidu will face Ratu Rakuro in the main supporting bout while Mathew Michael to face Robin Hazelman in the extra supporting bout.
