Weather Bulletin

Situation: A weak trough of low pressure with associated cloud and

showers lies slow moving just to the north of Vanua Levu and is

expected to gradually drift south towards the group and affect the

northern parts of the country from later today.

Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji group:

Cloudy periods with showers and isolated thunderstorms over the

northern parts of Vanua Levu from later today. Cloudy periods with

some showers over the eastern parts and interior of the larger

islands. Elsewhere, fine apart from afternoon or evening showers and

possible thunderstorms.

Moderate easterly winds, fresh at times. Winds expected to become

predominantly east to northeast later today.

Moderate to rough seas.

Outlook for Friday : Occasional showers and isolated

thunderstorms over Vanua Levu, the eastern parts and the interior of

the larger islands. Elsewhere, showers and thunderstorms especially

in the afternoon or evening.

For Navua / Suva / Nausori :

Cloudy periods with some showers.

Outlook for Friday : Occasional showers and isolated

thunderstorms

For Nadi / Lautoka / Ba :

Fine apart from isolated afternoon or evening showers with possible

thunderstorms.

Outlook for Friday : Showers and thunderstorms especially in the

afternoon or evening.

For Labasa :

Cloudy periods with showers and thunderstorms developing from later

today.

Outlook for Friday : Occasional showers and isolated

thunderstorms

For Savusavu : Cloudy periods with some showers.

Outlook for Friday : Occasional showers and isolated

thunderstorms

For Rotuma :

Situation: A trough of low pressure lies slow moving over Rotuma.

Associated cloud and showers affects the island.

Occasional showers and few thunderstorms.

Moderate northeast winds, fresh at times.

Moderate to rough seas.

Outlook for Friday : Occasional showers and few thunderstorms.

A STRONG WIND WARNING PREVIOUSLY IN FORCE FOR SOUTHERN LAU WATERS,

KADAVU AND VATU-I-RA PASSAGES IS CANCELLED.
