WARWICK Fiji was the only tourism property recognised at the 2017 Fiji Business Excellence Awards on November 4.

In an awards ceremony held at the Sheraton Fiji Resort Convention Centre in Denarau, the tourist operators were among public and private sector agencies that were recognised at the 19th FBEA.

Resort general manager Charles Homsy received the Achievement in Business Excellence prize from Minister for Employment, Productivity Industrial Relations Jone Usamate.

He said the award was a testament of the resort's commitment to excellence and quality standards and services.

He added that the award was also a recognition of the hard work of each staff at Warwick Fiji.

The resort is no stranger to the FBEA Module.

In 2015, Warwick Fiji was handed the Excellence in Business Prize Award and last year took home the Achievement in Business Excellence award.

The Fiji Business Excellence Awards this year marked its 19th anniversary. Implemented by the Fiji National University, the framework has been used by the public and private sector to measure standards and quality of services.

FNU vice chancellor Nigel Healey said the FBEA was different from other local awards because they were based on an internationally benchmarked framework — the US Malcolm Baldrige Business Excellence framework.

"This framework is in turn aligned to the Business Excellence frameworks adopted in Europe, Japan, Australia and Singapore," he said.

"It helps organisations adopt systems approach to enhancing their capabilities for superior performance and results."
