Approval for change of control

FORMAL regulatory approval has been given to Amalgamated Telecom Holdings for change of control in Telecom Cook Islands Ltd from Amper SA to ATH.

An announcement by ATH through the South Pacific Stock Exchange yesterday, the company said the Business Trade Investment Board in the Cook Islands has given formal approval in accordance with Part V of the Development Investment Board consenting to the transfer of control to ATH and permission to operate as a foreign investor.

It said as per the sale and purchase agreement execution of the sale was subject to the usual conditions including the obtaining of appropriate local consents, licences and permits from respective governments and regulatory authorities.

It said with Samoa and Cook Islands approvals in place, the remaining approvals and consents required were for American Samoa.
