LAUTOKA Blues' campaign for the Pacific Cup was boosted with kind support from Lautoka City Council.

Members of the Courts IDC and Vodafone National League champion side were hosted to an afternoon tea by LCC chief executive officer Jone Nakauvadra thanking the team for bringing pride to the Sugar City.

Nakauvadra assured the team would use the Churchill Park ground one free of charge for their daily training and games in readiness for the Pacific Cup and the O League championship.

He said the side had done wonders for the people of Lautoka and it was appropriate to support them in their future games.

"On behalf of the council, we thank you for bringing fame and glory to the people through your CVC, national league and IDC wins," said Nakauvadra.

"Now that you are preparing for the Pacific Cup —— from the council side, as a token of appreciation we will allow you to use Churchill Park FOC for your preparation.

"The support of the council is always there with so we need to recognise the hard work you had put in.

"We are thrilled and happy with your achievement and we hope the use of Churchill Park will help the team to do well."

Lautoka president Abdul Kadar said the offer and support made by LCC would inspire the players to work hard and to bring more glory to the district.

"We thank you for your support and we assure you that we will continue to work hard to bring more wins for Lautoka,"

The side will depart for New Zealand next week for some friendly games before competing in the Pacific Cup.
