A STRONG WIND WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR LAND AREAS OF SOUTHERN

LAU.

Situation: A high pressure system to the south of Fiji directs a

fresh to strong easterly wind flow over the group.

Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji group:

Over Southern Lau:

Over Land: Strong easterly winds with average speed up to 50 km/hr.

Cloudy periods with some showers.

Over Waters: Easterly winds 20 to 25 knots. Rough to very rough seas.

Moderate southeast swells.

For the rest of Fiji:

Some showers, heavy at times over Kadavu, the Lau and Lomaiviti

group, the eastern parts and interior of the larger islands.

Elsewhere, fine apart from afternoon or evening showers and isolated

thunderstorms.

Moderate to fresh easterly winds.

Moderate to rough seas.

Moderate southeast swells.

Outlook for Sunday : Some showers over the eastern parts and

interior of the larger islands. Afternoon or evening showers and

isolated thunderstorms.

For Navua / Suva / Nausori :

Some showers with possible heavy falls.

Outlook for Sunday : Cloudy periods with some showers.

For Nadi / Lautoka / Ba :

Fine apart from afternoon or evening showers and isolated

thunderstorms.

Outlook for Sunday : Afternoon or evening showers and isolated

thunderstorms.

For Labasa :

Fine apart from possible afternoon or evening showers and isolated

thunderstorms.

Outlook for Sunday : Possible afternoon or evening showers and

isolated thunderstorms.

For Savusavu : Cloudy periods with some showers.

Outlook for Sunday : Cloudy periods with some showers.

For Rotuma :

A trough of low pressure affects Rotuma.

Occasional showers, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.

Moderate easterly winds, fresh at times.

Moderate to rough seas.

Outlook for Sunday : Brief showers.

KADAVU AND VATU-I-RA PASSAGES AND IS NOW IN FORCE FOR SOUTHERN KORO

SEAS.

Situation:

A high pressure system to the south of Fiji directs a fresh to strong

east to southeast wind flow over the group.

Forecast to 6am tomorrow for Fiji waters:

For Southern Lau Waters, southern Koro Sea, Kadavu and Vatu-i-ra

Passages:

East to southeast winds 20 to 30 knots. Winds gusty at times.

Rough to very rough seas.

Moderate southeasterly swells.

Further outlook: Easterly winds 20 to 25 knots. Rough seas Moderate

southeasterly swells.

For the rest of Fiji Waters:

East to southeast winds 15 to 20 knots .

Moderate to rough seas. Moderate southeasterly swells.

Further outlook: Easterly winds 15 to 20 knots. Moderate to rough
