New boutique for Daku

DAKU Resort in Savusavu will soon have its very own boutique which will provide guests with a true Fijian shopping experience.

The resort's manager Aubrey Whippy said the boutique was part of their future plans.

Mr Whippy said they were planning to construct the facility close to their spa, giving guests free and easy access to the facility.

"We are planning for one of those little boutiques within the resort to allow guests to easily access Fijian made products," he said.

"The boutique will sell Fijian made clothing and artefacts including curios made right here in Savusavu.

"Since the resort works closely with a few communities here in Savusavu we will also look into using these villages to produce their own artefacts and works of art that can be sold at the resort.

"Those are still in the planning stages but it is something that we would consider once the facility has been done."

Mr Whippy said this would be a way of sealing their partnership with communities that they normally worked with.

"Our spa has all the pleasures of a bure in a traditional bay side resort without the prices of five-star resort life," he said.

"It's that combination of comfortable accommodation, good food, great setting and fabulous staff that has made it Savusavu's top rated choice on Trip Advisor.

"With the planned boutique this would ensure that guests enjoy the Daku hospitality without having to leave the resort."
