Drink-driving concerns

Drink-driving is now a concern — Police Commissioner Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho. (Editorial FT 31/10)

May I suggest that the penalty for drink-driving to be a mandatory three days in prison for first offender. After the necessary tests are done and there is proof that the driver has an "overdose of alcohol" in his or her blood, no court case, to the slammer they go.

We have talked much too long about this and drivers are not listening.

Toss them into prison for a few days and see. Oh and a one year ban from driving.

For second offenders, well let's do this one first.
