THE OCEANIA 7s in Fiji is expected to attract some global stars of the game and royals, says Oceania Rugby competition manager, Wayne Schuster.

He said rugby fans would watch some of the best 7s action, some Rio Olympic Games gold medallists in the Australian women's and the Fiji Airways 7s teams playing in Suva.

"Also out to stamp their mark will be the new set-up from the All Blacks Sevens camp and former All Blacks Sevens coach, Gordon Tiejtens for Samoa," Schuster said.

Top names such as former NZ 7s skipper and flyer, Karl Te Nana will be among commentators.

"This year we are honoured to have two princesses from the Tongan Royal family, the manager of the Tonga women's 7s team, Princess Moheofo and the patron of Tonga women's rugby, Princess Fanetupouvava'u Tu'ivakano."

Teams are expected to arrive on Sunday.
