Top 40 bowlers pit skills

THE country's top 40 bowlers will compete in the East versus West competition at the Suva Bowling Club next month.

Competition official Samuela Tui said the competition would be tough since the bowlers would be playing for a place in the national team for the Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast, Australia, next year.

"It is an annual event and the teams from both divisions will bring their best 10 bowlers in both the men's and women's competitions," Tui said.

"All the bowlers would try to be in the East and West teams since it is a trial for the Commonwealth Games. The competition would build the bowlers' confidence.

"Most of the bowlers are vying for a place to represent Fiji and we are expecting a tough competition during the two days of top bowling."

The tournament will be held on November 4-5.
