Rugby weakness In most of our provincial rugby competitions and national representative games and at district competitions we witness this weakness. This weakness is when a fellow player is tackled, these players must protect him and the ball - both flankers and both locks. Jersey numbers: 4,5,6,7 and at times whoever in the forwards is near can also do the same job. When no one protects our tackled ball holder, a penalty is awarded to the opposing team because our tackled player withheld the ball which should have been released to them. Alex Waqalevu Lautoka

Peaceful

protest

I thank Rajend Naidu of Sydney Australia for responding to my letter on the above topic (FT 30/9).

I take his point but section 18(2)(a-c) explains it all. Thank you.

Land

development

Can the good land minister call me on 9955178, and advise me why people are sitting on lots at Naqere industrial and not developing it at all? Some have got residential and no industrial business at all. They just living a good life out there.

I have huge investment here and over the past five years being trying to get land but to no avail. All I have been doing is writing letters but no answers. I am ready to take up four lots tomorrow.

A-G, any ideas please? You want development, I am ready. About 50 people will have guaranteed employment.

NCD

factor

One of my mates who is employed in the municipal council, health department, says that the minimum wage being paid nowadays is a contributing factor to NCDs.

Heck people cannot buy decent foods on a minimum wage so they buy the cheapest and over time (life style) they develop NCDs.

He has a point.

Fruit

pickers

The Australian National Union of Workers assist fruit pickers from Vanuatu and Samoa by providing information on employment contracts that should be compliant with Australian law, employment rights upon arrival and other information/ assistance prior to departure to ensure workers are not exploited by Australian employers.
