Roadworks in Suva

Korina Waibuta, Knollys St, Suva
Tuesday, October 31, 2017

THE roadworks in Suva has never been this bad.

Several stretches of road are dug up to fix whatever and left unfinished with no workers in sight.

Let's start at the entrance to Suva City along Ratu Mara Rd, at the 4 Miles bridge alongside Rewa Dairy.

Can someone please tell us what stage of road fixing that stretch of road is at — the beginning, middle or end?

Drive down to Ratu Sukuna Memorial School and you see the big gaps between the two main lanes.

Now they have decided to fix the Mead Rd roundabout. Drive around Suva and see other roadworks attempted.

Some weeks ago Water Authority came to fix a burst pipe along Knollys St. They have long gone, but whatever they were fixing is left partly exposed.

Few more rainy days and we will have our very own street lovo pit.

The quote "leave the world a better place" seems to escape these people digging up our roads.
