Another exciting honour

IT was an exciting moment for the staff members and management of Foneology after they scooped the Best Medium Business Operating Internationally award two years in a row.

The honour was announced during the Prime Minister's International Business Awards held at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva on Saturday October 21.

Since its establishment in 2006, Foneology had proved itself to be the country's number one mobile phone manufacture warranty service centre.

Managing director, James Trusler said words cannot express how excited they were since this was the second year they received the same award.

"We knew nothing about winning the award until it was announced that evening, it was a nice surprise. It's a nervous feeling waiting to see if you name is called out," Mr Trusler said. He said running a business was not easy because life was not meant to be easy.

"One of our current challenges is the shipments of mobile phone batteries so we now have to order three to four months' worth of stock at a time and then sea freight them to Fiji due to the airline restrictions."

He said the Prime Minister's International Business Awards has created motivation within their team and also helped them stand out on both the domestic market and the international market in securing new businesses.

Foneology is Alcatel's Asia/Pacific regional service hub and Samsung HHP service centre.

They also provide warranty services for Alcatel, Samsung, Aspera, Ruio and Vido and had diversified into other services such as GPS vehicle tracking, speed and red-light cameras and also cherry picker hiring.

Mr Trusler thanked his staff members for their hard work and commitment.
