THE champion BLK Nadroga Stallions team received a timely boost from its sponsor BLK at Lautoka office yesterday ahead of its Australia rugby tour.

The 15 players were issued with playing kit, vests for training, off-field outfit, travelling bags, knapsacks including the new BLK rugby boots to be officially launched later this year.

The team was invited to rugby 7s tournaments in Australia but were only given two weeks and will play for only one tournament.

BLK general manager Josefa Matau said the renowned world-class sports gear was grateful to partner with the champion team in Fiji.

"Nadroga is always one step ahead in setting the standard and benchmark than any other team and at BLK we are proud to be associated with Nadroga — the champion team in Fiji," he said.

"We are very excited with this initiative of sending players overseas and for us at BLK we are proud to be able to support and assist.

"Our donation includes rugby boots which is yet to be launched in Fiji and it is our hope it will enhance our performance."

Nadroga rugby president Tiko Matawalu said BLK had contributed immensely in the success of the team over the years through their support.

He said the Australian tour support provided by BLK would motivate the players to work hard.

"On behalf of the Nadroga Rugby Union we are so grateful for the BLK assistance," said Matawalu.

"The donation will help the players and we are grateful for BLK to assist with this magnitude.

"We hope and believe the boys will put their full effort to the team and continue to repay BLK for having faith in us."

The side will be playing at a 7s tournament in Adelaide.
