Challenge for Hayne

ARGUABLY the world's most recognisable player, Jarryd Hayne has met his match.

And it is not a bulky, muscled homo sapien.

Beliviah Ivy is giving her daddy a run for his own money.

"It has been a huge blessing," Hayne said of fatherhood.

"She is such a cutie."

Hayne said his daughter who will turn a year old soon showed glimpses of his own personality.

"She is stubborn and determined," he said.

"She screams when she wants something but I am tough on her."

Like many babies her age, Beliviah is a Little Dora, the explorer pulling things and being a little destroyer in the house.

And even gets distracted when her daddy tries to chat her up on Face Time.

Meanwhile, Hayne, who has not played for Fiji in the past nine years, said rugby league had grown leaps and bounds since he first played for the Fiji Bati in 2008.

"It has been an incredible journey, huge thanks to everyone."

However, he adds that there must be a Pacfic nation test considering the abundance of talent in the region.

"The amount of talent is unbelievable. So much talent just gets washed away, we can start something special," he added.

Hayne featured for Fiji in the five eighth position during the side's first match against USA on Saturday.

Leading up to the game a fan warned him of a "certain red haired" named Sonny who played in the number 12 position for USA.

The fan said the player standing at 1.95m and weighing 102kg would do anything to win.

"Be wary, Hayne. He is a destroyer and will do anything to win. Squirrel grips, hoppas, eye gorging are normal for this man mountain. I would consider tearing a hami during warm up," the fan, Ray Shipley, said on Facebook.

Hayne replied to his comment saying he appreciated the advice and reposted the post saying," this is too funny not to post."
