Issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi at 5:30am on Saturday the 28th of October 2017

Situation: A trough of low pressure with associated clouds and showers remains slow moving over Fiji. Meanwhile, another trough of low pressure is expected to approach the country from the west and affect the group from later today.

Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji group: Occasional showers, heavy at times and few thunderstorms over Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Lau group, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands and eastern parts and interrior of the other larger islands.

Elsewhere, cloudy periods with some showers and isolated thunderstorms with heavy falls expected in the afternoon or evening. Moderate east to northeast winds, fresh at times. Moderate to rough seas.

Outlook for Sunday : Occasional showers and few thunderstorms over most places.

For Navua / Suva / Nausori : Occasional showers, heavy at times and few thunderstorms . Outlook for Sunday : Occasional showers and few thunderstorms.

For Nadi / Lautoka / Ba : Some showers especially in the afternoon or evening with isolated thunderstorms. Outlook for Sunday : Occasional showers and few thunderstorms.

For Labasa : Occasional showers and few thunderstorms. Outlook for Sunday : Occasional showers and few thunderstorms.

For Savusavu : Occasional showers and few thunderstorms. Outlook for Sunday : Occasional showers and few thunderstorms.

For Rotuma : Situation: A trough of low pressure lies slow moving in the vicinity of Rotuma. Cloudy periods with some showers and possible thunderstorms. Moderate easterly winds, fresh at times. Moderate to rough seas.

Outlook for Sunday : Some showers.

Situation: A trough of low pressure with associated cloud and showers remains slow moving over Fiji. Meanwhile, another trough of low pressure is expected to approach the country from the west and affect the group from later today.

Forecast to 6am tomorrow for Fiji waters: Easterly winds 15 to 20 knots. Moderate to rough seas. Poor visibility in areas of heavy showers and thunderstorms.

Further outlook: Easterly winds 15 to 20 knots. Moderate to rough seas.
