Dwarfs to giants

Dharmendra Kumar, Rewa St, Suva

I believe there is a pressing need for intelligent leaders but oftentimes leaders are intelligent giants but maturity dwarfs.

Our Prime Minister is busy preparing for COP23 and the Attorney-General is ensuring the smooth running of the country is a combination that motivates and inspires Fijians.

How is this possible? Acquiring leadership maturity is a lifetime journey. In believe our Prime Minister and Attorney-General are giants in leadership and maturity.

I believe they serve in humility and love all. I believe they connect with all, show respect, appreciation and are ready to engage with all Fijians.

So who sees further: a dwarf or a giant? Obviously a giant for his eyes are situated at a higher level than those of the dwarf.

It's unfortunate that Fiji has more dwarfs than giants.

Their eyesight is at a lower level hence they don't have the heart for all Fijians.

You can only be a giant in leadership once you examine the condition of your heart.

The Bible says, "Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life".

My prayer is for dwarfs to become giants in the 2018 election.
