Fiji's RLWC opener against the Hawks

The Fiji Bati versus United States Hawks clash at Townsville Stadium is bound to attract a huge crowd.

The Fiji Bati are beaming with confidence that the squad they have is going to get the job done and is laced with NRL talent including Hayne, who last played for Fiji at the 2008 RLWC and will represent Fiji after a nine-year absence.

Coach Mick Potter has been working hard to get the combinations click and despite some work needed, the team looks happy and confident.

The Hawks have named a strong side and coach McDermotte believes that the match is going to be about timing and working game day systems than match fitness. He challenged his stars to give 100 per cent of their ability in all the games.

Despite the fact that the Fiji Bati is ranked a couple of places higher than the USA Hawks, and has the benefit of NRL players on its roster, our boys will need the Midas touch and put on a good show.

The USA Hawks shocked many at the 2013 RLWC by making it to the quarter-finals, so the Hawks can never be underestimated.

This has been a transitional year for the Hawks and they will be out to create an upset. Rugby fans have predicted the two-time semi-finalist Fiji to win, but the battle is going to be tough.

After earlier losses to Tonga, the Kumuls and Kangaroos, our flying and magical warriors need to make their presence felt during 80 minutes of high intensity and drama and rugby league at its best.
