Ba Golf Club battle

THE battle for the 2017 Ba Golf Club Championship titles will start with the qualifying rounds at the Fiji Sugar Corporation Rarawai course tomorrow.

National rep Ashish Chand will defend the A Grade title.

Chand recently represented Fiji at the Vanuatu Open Championship.

He will face stiff challenge from veteran Rajen Singh, Rohit Chandra and Vishwa Nadan.

Rajesh Prasad the club's treasurer will defend the B Grade title. Jyoti Lal who has been playing consistent golf is a title contender in the second tier.

Joeli Dakunimata will defend the C Grade title.

Prasad said 18 holes would be played.

He said the top eight players would qualify for the quarter-finals.

"The finals of all the grades will be played over 36 holes," Prasad said.

"The winners of each grade will be classed as the club champion. Next week, the Metal Works and Joinery Ltd-sponsored tournament will be played."
