Selena Gomez to make live comeback

Saturday, October 28, 2017

Selena Gomez has announced her return to the live arena for the first time since her kidney transplant earlier this year, revealing that she'll be performing at next month's American Music Awards.

The 25-year-old pop megastar has been recovering from the autoimmune disease lupus for the last couple of years, and revealed last month that the reason for her absence from public life over the summer was that her best friend, actress Francia Raisa, had given a kidney to her.

However, the American Music Awards are a happy hunting ground for Gomez historically, as she provided show-stopping performances there in 2014 and 2015, while winning the best pop/rock act award in 2016.

At the 2017 ceremony on November 19th in Los Angeles, she'll be giving a world television live premiere of her brand new single "Wolves", a collaboration with electronic music act Marshmello.

"I'm very aware some of my fans had noticed I was laying low for part of the summer and questioning why I wasn't promoting my new music, which I was extremely proud of," Gomez captioned an Instagram post in September, explaining her low profile.

"So I found out I needed to get a kidney transplant due to my lupus and was recovering. It was what I needed to do for my overall health."

In other Selena news, sources told UsWeekly this week that the singer got back in touch with somebody significant from her past in the wake of her surgery — her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber reached out!

"Selena is simply trying to make peace with Justin after her illness," an insider told the publication.

"He has been great to her since her surgery and they are on good terms right now. They got back in touch recently through their friends and have seen each other at church."
