A burst water main at a Labasa reservoir on Tuesday morning disrupted water supply to some residents.

In a statement, the Water Authority of Fiji said the burst 15-inch main linked Benau Reservoir to Volanau Reservoir, outside Labasa Town.

Alofa Kelepi, a resident of Bulileka said they had been without piped water since midday on Tuesday.

"We are lucky to have a tank and that has sustained our supply since the water supply was disrupted."

The WAF stated that the production team attended to the problem to restore water supply to affected residents.

The areas affected were Vunivau, Cawaira, Basoga, Soasoa, Vaturekuka, the corrections centre, the army camp, Vatunibale, Vitadra, Bulileka, Low Cost, Boca, Urata, Boubale and Dreketi Lailai.
