THE Fiji Police Force has organised workshops in the Northern Division for special constables aimed at increasing their knowledge of police duties and newly introduced Crimes Decree.

Police media officer north Constable Luke Rawalai said the workshops would be held in Labasa, Savusavu and Taveuni.

"There are five phases of the workshops touching on general knowledge regarding the mission, vision, values, general police duties, discipline, ethics, conduct, general behaviour and other basic subjects regarding police work," Constable Rawalai said.

"These five phases are very general in nature and were introduced to help the special constables in their day-to-day work before they learn the fundamentals of police work at the recruits course later in their career path.

"The Commissioner of Police, Brigadier General Ioane Naivalurua, has demanded all police officers to be well versed with the law and to know their general duties by heart in order to lift the service delivery of the Fiji Police Force."

Constable Rawalai said the officers would sit exams at the end of the workshop.
