AS Denarau prepares to swing into the Fiji 2012 International Jazz and Blues Festival tomorrow, local artist Simione Rova is looking forward to sharing his band's brand of jazz and blues with the world.
Rova's musical outfit, Fiji Fusion, is holed up at his Martintar residence, finetuning their repertoire and preparing to deliver a powerhouse of a performance this Thursday at 7pm on the Victoria Wines stage at Port Denarau.
"We have been to New Caledonia and Wallis and Futuna but nothing will beat being out on an international stage right here in Fiji. We have come a long way in six years but one thing I know is that we will learn a lot from our international musician brothers and sisters," he said.
Featuring guitarist extraordinaire and fusion specialist David Black, real name Tavite Loaloa, Fiji Fusion is promising music fans nothing short of a blistering performance.
"I'm also featuring three keyboard players ù Freddy Welekoto, Sanivalati Naituku and Apisai Naulivou ù on the night while I hold the backbeat on drums with bass player Maika Dridri making up the rhythm section," shared Rova.
