THE producer of a movie being shot in the country is happy with the support of the people here.

And he has assured that he will produce another movie in Fiji later this year because of the country's beauty.

Ravi Ahlawat, the producer of Supermodel, said, "There is very good support from Fijians and it's just like we are shooting in India."

Mr Ahlawat said the movie script required a beautiful island for the shooting.

"I checked Mauritius, Thailand and Fiji and I decided that the movie will be shot here in Fiji," he said.

He told The Fiji Times during the shooting at Natadola beach in Sigatoka on Tuesday evening that Fiji was not much exposed in Bollywood.

"We are exposing some new locations by shooting here in Fiji."

"The overall budget for the movie is eight crore (million) rupees ($FJ2.67 million) and it includes the budget for shooting in Fiji."

"We are doing 100 per cent of the shooting here in Fiji and five to 10 per cent changes may be made during the post-production of the movie in India."

Mr Ahlawat described Fiji as an ideal location for making movies.

Asked if he was thinking of making more movies in Fiji, he said, "Definitely, I will come to Fiji again."

"The scripts for my two other movies are being written now and one will definitely be shot in Fiji."

Mr Ahlawat said his personal experience of Fiji since the time the cast and crew landed in the country was nice.

He said the Fiji government was also very supportive in the production of his movie in the country.

"My second movie in Fiji would be later this year," he said.

Mr Ahlawat produces two movies a year, with his recently completed movie Farmhouse in the post-production stage.
