FORMER Lautoka Netball president Eparama Sadole Turaga will be laid to rest at the Balawa Cemetery in Lautoka this morning.
The 56-year old who is also the former manager of the Lautoka Crushers Rugby League passed away last Sunday.
Crushers coach Mesake Navugona said Turaga's death was a huge loss to sports in the country.
"Eparama is one of the people that started the Crushers rugby league club. He arranged our sponsors, started our gym and is one of those people who contributed a lot to the development of our club. Our condolences is with his family," Navugona said.
Turaga was a former board member of FNRL and was also a former Fiji Bati manager.
"This is a huge loss to us and the sports as well. But whatever Eparama has contributed will forever be remembered within the club," Navugona said.
Turaga's cousin, Tomasi Koroitamana said Turaga would be missed in the family.
"He is a family man, and we always look up to him for his contribution to the family and sports as well. Eparama is the first Fijian to act in a karate movie (Tiger, Tiger, Tiger)," Koroitamana said.
"We will always remember him for who he is," he added.
