COZMO Lounge located on the top floor of Tappoo City stages a masquerade night to the backdrop of music from globetrotting Fijian DJ, David Elbourne tomorrow night.

Formerly a British Army aerospace engineer, Elbourne left the army last year and is organising Fiji's first Electronic Dance Music festival - Electrofest.

The event will feature international DJs and is to be held in Nadi in November.

The former Natabua High School student said tomorrow he would play music from the electronic dance music genre which was slowly gaining a foothold among music lovers the world over.

"I'll be playing some house, progressive, a little bit of minimal, some techno, electro house, trance and emerging genres like dubstep and boombahton so grab a mask and come down this Saturday," he said .

"I've played in a number of clubs in Fiji, in the west and at some resorts along the coral coast. I can tell there's an interest in this kind of music from people but it's going to take time and I'd like to be the one to lead their exposure to it."

Lounge manager Melba Lala said: "We're trying to have more gigs here.

"David waived his fee because he's trying to promote his music and it's also a chance for us to market the lounge."

Ms Lala said people had a misconception about the lounge being exclusive, catering towards an upper market clientele and being pricey because of its location and decor.

"We have some of the most competitive prices around in terms of our beverages so come around this Saturday and enjoy some good music," she added.

Entry is free and the event begins at 7pm and runs till 10pm.
