A new initiative launched yesterday, has made loan applications and disbursement as easy as texting.
As Dominion Finance general manager, Karl Smith put it: "Now, you don't have to come to us if you need more money, you can just text us."
Of course, you have to be an existing customer first before the service gets that easy.
Yesterday, Dominion Finance and Vodafone Fiji signed an agreement to use the M-PAiSA as a vehicle for loan repayment and disbursement.
The agreement marks a significant achievement for Dominion Finance, which started operation in 1999 offering personal loans, motor vehicle loan, revolving credit facilities, hire-purchase, commercial loan, performance bonds and tender bonds.
"As a business, we continue to be innovative and introduce new technology to increase our accessibility and reach and in the process making it more secure and convenient for our clients to transact with us," Mr Smith said. "The M-PAiSA medium opens up a secure 24hr channel for our clients to make their repayment for outstanding loans.
"It also provides Dominion Finance a much more convenient, cost effective and faster medium to make loan disbursement to our clients anywhere in Fiji directly on their mobile phones. Disbursements through cheques mean that the customers have to wait for anywhere up to six days for the cheque to clear before they could access the funds. M-PAiSA is already cleared funds and the receiver can withdraw the money instantly."
