STOP travelling in unlicensed operators that offer taxi services.
This is a warning issued by the Land Transport Authority to the travelling public in the Western Division after the road monitor netted 28 illegal private rental cars and vans masquerading as taxis during a three-day operation in Lautoka.
Road Safety west director Joji Sumuturaga said if passengers in an illegal taxi were involved in an accident, they were not covered for insurance purposes.
