NO suspects are being sought for the deaths of a Melbourne family of four with Victorian police treating the case as murder-suicide.

Former Fiji residents Nilesh Sharma, 34, his wife Preetika, 32, and their children Divesh Sharma, 5, and Divya, 3, were found dead in their Glen Waverley home on Tuesday. The Herald Sun reported Nilesh was found in a hallway and the others in their bedrooms.

It quoted police as saying the four deaths were being treated as a murder-suicide and officers stressed that no suspects were being sought. Post-mortem examinations were held yesterday to confirm the causes of death.

The Age believes the children were smothered.

The police, The Age said, would also investigate whether there were any relationship issues between the parents of the two children, and whether a car crash in the Dandenong Ranges on December 29 involving the family could be connected to their deaths.

The police were, however, satisfied that the cause of death was contained within the house.

The Age reported the police were called to the family's home for a welfare check on Tuesday morning when Divya was not taken to family day care for the second day running.
