FIJI'S Ruby Coffin is on the right track to finish as the top player in the under-12 women's West Pacific Qualifying Junior Tennis Championship in Lautoka.

Coffin boosts her campaign with three wins from three games showing more maturity and experience having played at this level last year.

She defeated Vanuatu's Emma Maucotel 6-3, 6-0 on day one, Chole Colliuson of Solomon 6-1, 6-0 and Nicole Kamara of Paua New Guinea 6-1, 6-0 yesterday.

In the boys' division Damien Wu has qualified for the knockout stages. Wu finished as the top seed from Pool C.

Fiji tennis coach Naga Reddy is happy with the results.

"I know they have capabilities. Ruby played last year so she has that experience that will help her a lot in this competition.

Damien will find competition tough but he has shown his potential by finishing as the best player from his pool," Reddy said.

Wu defeated Tuvalu's Gavin Molotii in his pool match yesterday.
