Province talks

DEVELOPMENT plans will be the gist of discussions at today's Macuata Provincial Council meeting in Labasa. Roko tui Macuata Sitiveni Lalibuli said the meeting would coincide with the Macuata Day celebrations. "We will be having the meeting for one day only because Macuata Day will take place for two days," Mr Lalibuli said. The Macuata Day starts tomorrow and ends on Friday.

Power works

OFFICIALS of the Fiji Electricity Authority (FEA) have started pegging spots for electric posts between Seaqaqa and Nasarawaqa in Bua, says divisional planning officer northern Alipate Bolalevu. The work is part of the electrification project with the government and FEA sharing the total cost of $14million. Mr Bolalevu said the power posts would be located in Labasa. He said FEA workers would complete pegging this week and begin erecting the posts some time this month.
