PEOPLE will get a chance to put their hidden talents on show when the FIJI Showcase 2012 starts on Friday.

For those interested, the FM96 FIJI Showcase Your Talent will provide the perfect platform to let out your inner star.

FM96 programs director, Amelia Rigsby said they felt like opening things up from the normal dance competitions held every year at the FIJI Showcase.

She said by doing this, they wanted to allow more participation and ultimately make it more fun for the crowd and the participants.

Total Events company manager Loretta Jackson said FM96 received dozens of applications from people wanting to showcase their talents at FIJI Showcase 2012.

"As one example, one of the groups that will be performing are a duo called The Dancing Divas, made up of two girls aged 12 and 13," she said.

"At the other end of the spectrum, a 64-year old man will be singing on stage, his only requirement which he uses as part of his performance is a cowbell!!"

She said the winner of the FM96 FIJI Showcase would take home $500 while second and third would snag $300 and $200 respectively.

"So if you feel you have a talent to showcase to everyone else, feel free to register for the competition."

Ms Jackson said registration ended last Friday but because of the large number of people still wanting to enter, registration was extended to the opening day of the FIJI Showcase 2012.

FIJI Showcase 2012 will open its doors on Friday and continue until May 12.
