THE month of May has been declared Manufacturers Month with the focus on the promotion of locally made products and its endorsement in the international market.
Launching the new government initiative in Lautoka yesterday, Attorney-General and Minister for Industry and Trade, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum encouraged local businesses to capitalise on the positive images that the international community had of Fiji.
"We are trying to tell the business people that you have a ready market waiting for you and you need to invest more money into your businesses because if you do that, you will then be able to ensure that you will be getting more people buying your products," said Mr Sayed-Khaiyum.
"It is imperative that we all understand that if you have Fijian products, you will not only produce jobs but you are also ensuring that you're promoting Fiji."
