EDUCATION department officials in the Western Division have been distributing food and seedlings to 13 boarding schools over the past two days.
Divisional education officer Lorima Voravora said the gift was part of the flood assistance scheme to help students affected by the flood.
He said more than 700 students were assisted through this scheme, which also included the gifts of exercise books.
Schools visited were Sabeto District, Vuda District, Ratu Navula, Jasper Williams High, Natabua High, Ba Provincial Freebird, Ba Methodist, Sigatoka Valley High, Rukuruku District, Bemana Catholic Primary and High, Nasikawa primary and Noikoro Primary schools.
"We want to make sure that students have everything they need inside and outside the classroom." he said.
