OVER 500 children are expected to be part of the third bi-annual Kids Games Fiji that will take place next month.

Eight churches from Suva and Lami have united to organise the event that will teach children valuable life skills and about the Bible at Albert Park in Suva.

Kids Games organising committee member Tom Tiko said the event would also be used as an appeal to help collect sporting equipment for flood-affected children of the Western Division.

He said any contributions of sporting equipment, such as balls, frisbees, skipping ropes or marbles would be appreciated.

"As part of the event, an appeal has been launched for the public to donate any used and new sports equipment they may have for the 'Kids Games Sports Pack Flood Appeal'," Tiko said.

"The aim of this appeal is to bring some fun and joy back into the lives of children affected by the floods," he said.

The Kids Games will be held over the whole first week of May while donations can be dropped off at the grandstand at Albert Park on May 4- 5 between 10am to 4pm.

"We also hope that this equipment will help bring flood affected communities and families back together, as they go through the long recovery process," Tiko said.
