THE Australia Masters Hockey sides were impressed with the facilities regarding the sport in Suva.
The Mens Masters team manager Ian Edwards said they are enjoying their experience so far at Laucala Bay's National Hockey Turf and in the city.
"We are really privileged to be here. This is the first time the Australian Master sides have made and international tour and we are glad it's Fiji," Edwards said.
"We did our research on Fiji before we came but I tell you we are impressed with what we see," he said.
"The facilities are excellent and are good enough for international events."
Both the Australian Mens and Womens teams will be playing four games in Fiji and Edwards is optimistic of a good outing for his side.
"We play two games each against the Fiji Masters side and the HPU side and we are confident of doing well in all games."
"Just that we were met with the humidity and heat here and we are lucky the games are played in the evenings."
He says the Australian Masters side has Fiji's development in mind and is ready to help.
"We know what our tour means to the Fiji Hockey Federation and we are really impressed with the organisation of our tour and we are privileged to assist with development efforts."
"We will also be conducting clinics with schools to help spread the knowledge of hockey among schoolchildren and we hope it will be successful," Edwards said.
In last night's opening game, the Australia Masters Women's team beat Fiji Masters Womens 3-0.
