POLICE will first arrange for a leased land in the Wainunu district in Bua before building a community police post, says deputy divisional police commander north Superintendent Fulori Rainibogi.
Her comment follows the offer from Tui Wainunu Ratu Orisi Baleitavea that his people would offer land to build the police post.
Ratu Orisi only asked police at the Bua Provincial Council meeting yesterday to provide the benzine and chainsaw to cut the logs for the police post.
But SP Rainibogi said it was important for a lease to be obtained before any construction work began.
She said having a proper lease would benefit future dealings with the community.
She said the lease would also benefit the force.
The district of Wainunu uses the postal agency office to operate from.
