at 5:30am on Monday the 23rd of April 2012

Situation: A trough of low pressure lying over the northeastern parts

of Fiji is expected to gradually weaken and move eastwards away from

the group by later Tuesday.

Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji group:

Occasional rain over Vanua Levu, Taveuni and the Northern Lau Group.

Cloudy periods with some showers about the interior and eastern parts

of the other larger islands with afternoon or evening showers

elsewhere. Isolated thunderstorms expected, especially in the

afternoon or evening.

Moderate to fresh southeast winds.

Rough to very rough seas.

Outlook for TUESDAY : Occasional showers over Lau and the Lomaiviti

Group and the interior and eastern parts of the main islands.

Elsewhere, fine apart from afternoon or evening showers. Isolated

afternoon or evening thunderstorms expected

For Navua / Suva / Nausori :

Cloudy periods with some showers.

Outlook for TUESDAY : Occasional showers.

For Nadi / Lautoka / Ba :

Fine apart from afternoon or evening showers and isolated thunderstorms.

Outlook for TUESDAY : Fine apart from afternoon or evening showers

and isolated thunderstorms.

For Labasa :

Occasional rain.

Outlook for TUESDAY : Fine apart from afternoon or evening showers

and possible thunderstorms.

For Savusavu : Occasional rain.

Outlook for TUESDAY : Occasional showers.

For Rotuma :

Moderate easterly winds.

Fine apart from brief showers.

Moderate seas.

Outlook for TUESDAY : Brief showers.
