THEY both believe Fijians will bring exotic beauty into the Miss World Pageant.
Supermodel, actress, and reality TV show host Rachel Hunter and 2003 Fear Factor grand champion Mark Hewlett are in Fiji as the two overseas judges for the Miss World Fiji pageant tonight.
The Kiwi duo jetted in on Tuesday night excited for the inaugural event they believe will bring a Pacific edge to the Miss World pageant.
"Exotic beauty is so hot and Fijians will definitely be bringing that into the Miss World pageant," Ms Hunter said.
"I don't think there has ever been a Pacifika representation in the pageant and I am excited for the opportunities available to them through this."
Mr Hewlett who has strong ties to Fiji through his parents and has lived in Taunovo for the past two years is encouraged by the Miss World Fiji's support for mental health.
"I have type-one diabetes and while it is not exactly a mental illness, it is similar in terms of the stigma, fear and preconceived ideas formed about it.
"It is a great cause to be associated with especially since it involves everyone." Both Mark and Rachel cannot wait for the closing tonight.
They already have a fair idea of what areas they will be looking at in terms of judging the contestants.
"I want a person that has inner beauty, in the sense that they have that ability to inspire those around them."
Ms Hunter adds the Miss World Fiji and the annual Miss World pageant were a door of opportunities for contestants.
"It's not just a pageant but an amazing opportunity of training and preparation for worthy causes. This is a chance for these girls to shine."
The Miss World Fiji held a black and white tie event last night at the Forum Secretariat and the pageant proper will be held tonight at the Suva Civic Centre from 7pm.
Tickets are selling at $25 each and can be purchased at MHCC.
