YOUTHS need to be involved in decision making level during village meetings, says roko tui Cakaudrove Ro Aca Mataitini.
The message has been made known in the various district meetings of Cakaudrove attended by officials of the provincial office.
Ro Aca said he had noticed at some village meetings that youths remained quiet while the men made the decisions.
"We have always stressed to village heads and elders to allow women, youths and children to speak up during the village meetings.
"Their contribution is as important as the men speaking and making decisions during village meetings and that is why we have reminded men to allow such change to happen," Ro Aca said.
He said that while some villages in Cakaudrove had adopted to such changes in allowing women, youths and children to speak up during village meetings, other villages had yet to make such decisions.
He added youths had proved to be good workers of village development projects.
