REDDY Group executive and senior management teams attended a disaster management workshop at the Tanoa International Hotel in Nadi yesterday.

The workshop, opened by permanent secretary for Provincial Development and Natural Disaster Management Lieutenant-Colonel Inia Seruiratu, was organised by Reddy Group, the National Disaster Management Office, Pacific Community-focused Integrated Disaster Risk Reduction (PCIDRR) Program and SOPAC.

The workshop is a first of its kind with a private, government and non-government partnership in ensuring disaster preparedness.

The management team learned aspects of analysis and evaluation of hazards, planning for effective preparedness, response, recovery, reduction of underlying risk factors and the challenges and development goals in an emergency.

At the workshop, an industrial water blaster was also handed over to Lt-Col Seruiratu by representatives of Clyde Equipment (Pacific) Limited to help with the continuing clean-up efforts in the Western Division.
