Last night's official launch of the Carpenters Fiji Limited Miss World Fiji 2012 attracted a large turnout at the Five Princes Hotel in Tamavua.
The launch was also an opportunity for guests to have a glimpse of the white silver crown รน an exact replica of the blue Miss World crown.
The 14 beauties vying for the title of this inaugural event were given a chance to meet and mingle with sponsors and supporters. The winner will get the chance to represent Fiji at the Miss World pageant 2012 in Ordos, Inner Mongolia.
Pageant national director Andhy Blake commended the contestants' unique talents.
He said he hoped to motivate and mould the young ladies in bringing out the best in them.
"This is just not a pageant but one that will also promote mental health, having beauty with a purpose," Mr Blake said.
The event starts on April 21.
