PUBLIC Service Commission permanent secretary Parmesh Chand challenged participants at the Heads of Corporate Services Committee Workshop held in Suva yesterday to be thorough in their discussions to help better human resources related policies.

He said there was an increase of enquiries regarding human resources policy directions and current reform initiatives taking place in the PSC.

"HR matters that have been delegated to permanent secretaries continue to be referred to the commission without adequate research, assessments or vetting," Mr Chand said.

"This workshop will provide an opportune time to address pressing HR and corporate issues on a one-to-one basis with the PSC management team.

"This workshop will better improve the management capabilities that look after human resources," he said.

Mr Chand said participants who were corporate heads in their respective departments would be the person to interpret and disseminate policies initiated by the PSC.

"You will be the key focal point with regards to HR and related policies.

"PSC would like to have your constructive feedback and critiques so that we can make improvements and bring about changes whenever needed."
