at 5:30am on Thursday the 12th of April 2012

Situation: A trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain to

the far west of Fiji is gradually moving eastward and is expected to

affect the group from later Friday.

Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji group:

Cloudy periods with some showers over the interior and eastern parts

of the larger islands. Elsewhere, fine apart from afternoon or

evening showers. Isolated thunderstorms with heavy falls in the

afternoon or evening especially over the interior and western parts

of the main islands.

Moderate northeast winds.

Moderate seas.

Outlook for FRIDAY : Cloud cover increasing with rain developing from

the west and gradually spreading elsewhere overnight.

For Navua / Suva / Nausori :

Cloudy periods with some showers.

Outlook for FRIDAY : Some showers and thunderstorms.

For Nadi / Lautoka / Ba :

Fine apart from afternoon or evening showers and isolated thunderstorms.

Outlook for FRIDAY : Rain developing.

For Labasa :

Fine apart from afternoon or evening showers and few thunderstorms.

Outlook for FRIDAY : Some showers and thunderstorms.

For Savusavu : Cloudy periods with some showers.

Outlook for FRIDAY : Some showers and thunderstorms.

For Rotuma :

Moderate easterly winds.

Fine apart from brief showers.

Moderate seas.

Outlook for FRIDAY : Brief showers.
