THE Nadi Magistrates Court granted bail to four men who were charged with assaulting a health officer after the prosecuting officer did not object to bail.
Shiva Krishan Kumar, Sunil Kumar, Shivam Visal Maharaj and Kamlesh Kumar who allegedly assaulted a health officer at the San Bruno Hotel on Saturday were granted bail yesterday morning after acting police prosecuting officer Sergeant Subramani Naidu did not object to bail, citing the offence was reconcilable.
However, Sgt Naidu asked for certain conditions that Magistrate Samuela Qica granted.
The four, represented by legal counsel Anil Singh were ordered to pay bail of $1000 on their own recognisance, told not to interfere with witnesses, ordered to report to the nearest police station between 6am and 6pm on Mondays and Wednesdays, and to reside at their respective known addresses.
The four will reappear on June 24 for mention.
