THE children of Fiji are the biggest inspiration for the national sevens team, said Joeli Lutumailagi.

Lutumailagi was yesterday invited to LDS Primary School in Samabula, to celebrate Fiji's recent victory at the Hong Kong rugby 7s tournament.

The Digicel Fiji 7s team rover took with him the Hong Kong 7s trophy for the children to see.

"Children are our biggest supporters," Lutumailagi said.

"No matter what happens, whether we win or lose, they never lose faith in us," he said.

"That is one of the reasons they are the biggest inspiration for the sevens team and that is why we dedicated the win to them too."

He told the children yesterday to keep backing the national sevens team and the players will try and win tournaments.

"I would like to thank you all, teachers, parents, supporters and children, for inviting me to this celebration," he said yesterday.

"I did not expect this; you even made posters of me and chanted 'Go Fiji Go'. Your support has inspired me to do even better whenever I am representing any team and especially the sevens team," Lutumailagi said.

LDS Primary School headteacher Vito Qaqa said the children were treated to a once in a lifetime opportunity.

"These children might not get another opportunity like this again, to meet and celebrate the Hong Kong 7s win with their star Joeli Lutumailagi," Qaqa said.

"We would like to thank Joeli and the national sevens team for winning the Hong Kong title.

"Their win has inspired these children and we never know maybe one them might go to Hong Kong to play for Fiji," he said.
