HUNDREDS of shoppers took advantage of flood sales in the Jet-Set Town of Nadi yesterday.
While most businesses resumed trading to some degree, some remained closed because of the extent of damage to furniture, stock and fittings.
Jack's Adidas outlet attracted a lot of shoppers with huge reductions on the world famous brand of sporting attire and footwear still stained with sludge from the recent floods that wreaked havoc in the tourist centre on March 30.
Clothing merchant S.Nagindas also drew a lot of shoppers with prices slashed on flood spoilt apparel.
President of the Nadi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Doctor Ram Raju said although businesses had opened their doors for trading, things were not expected to normalise as yet.
"It could take a week or two before businesses complete their cleanup and repairs," Dr Raju said.
"While bigger establishments will recover relatively quicker than others, small to medium enterprises will be faced with bigger challenges with many still reeling and recovering from the January floods," he said.
