INITIAL estimates of damage to food crops in the Western Division will be handed over to Cabinet today.
Agriculture permanent secretary Colonel Mason Smith said the preliminary reports of estimated damage of all the districts in the region were compiled over the past few days.
Col Smith said according to the figures that they collected so far, Sigatoka was the worst affected during the floods.
"Initially we said that Sigatoka would have the most cost of damages and these figures have proven that," said Col Smith.
Although the figures are yet to be released by the ministry, Col Smith said the cost of damages in the Western Division is worse compared to the damages suffered in the January floods.
