NORMAL classes will resume in schools in the Western Division today.
Ministry of Education permanent secretary Dr Brij Lal said the ministry had liaised with school heads in the West whose schools were damaged to make alternative arrangements.
In a statement, the ministry noted that it was aware some parents would not send their children to school as they were still recovering from the flood.
"In such a situation it is up to the parents whether they want to send their children to school as the ministry understands some might not be able to do so," Dr Brij Lal said.
